At Deltamed we design and manufacture ambulances and special vehicles, where the quality of supplier components plays a critical role in the safety and performance of our final products.

We are looking for a Supplier Quality Engineer with a strong technical background and a hands-on approach, who will verify incoming components, investigate non-conformities, and work directly with suppliers to improve product quality.

This is not a desk-only role. The position involves frequent presence in production, incoming inspection and workshops, working with real products and identifying the technical root causes of issues.

Main Responsibilities

  • manage supplier quality complaints and follow up on corrective actions
  • investigate non-conformities identified in incoming inspection, production or workshops
  • perform direct verification of materials, components and equipment delivered by suppliers, including random or planned checks
  • identify technical root causes of defects and coordinate corrective actions with suppliers
  • collaborate with production, mechanical and electrical workshops, engineering and procurement to prevent recurring issues
  • monitor supplier performance and participate in supplier evaluation or audits
  • use problem-solving methods such as 5Why, Ishikawa, 8D or FMEA

In this role you will work with a wide range of components, such as: medical equipment, mechanical and electrical subassemblies, technical furniture and interior components, devices and systems installed in vehicles, components produced both by external suppliers and by our internal mechanical workshops.

What a typical day might look like

The role combines technical analysis with direct interaction with the products and the production teams. For example, on a typical day, you might:

  • Together with the production team, analyze a nonconformity identified during incoming inspection or assembly.
  • physically inspect a mechanical subassembly or a medical device delivered by a supplier
  • discuss with colleagues from mechanical or electrical workshops to understand how a component is used in production
  • document and send a technical complaint to a supplier
  • review the supplier’s response and follow up on corrective actions
  • participate in supplier evaluations or audits

The role requires regular presence in production and incoming inspection areas in order to fully understand issues and identify effective solutions.

Candidate profile

This role might be a great fit if you

  • enjoy understanding how components are manufactured and why defects occur
  • prefer to inspect and analyze real products, not just documentation
  • are technically curious and enjoy root cause investigation
  • like collaborating with production and engineering teams
  • want to see the impact of your work in real improvements to products and processes

Requirements

  • technical university degree (mechanical, industrial, electrical engineering or similar)
  • 3–5 years of experience in a quality role within a manufacturing company (supplier quality, incoming quality or quality engineering)
  • ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
  • experience with root cause analysis and corrective actions (8D, 5Why, Ishikawa, FMEA)
  • good communication skills and ability to work with suppliers and internal teams
  • English – intermediate or advanced level, German – represents a significant advantage
  • availability for occasional supplier visits

Benefits

  • Meal vouchers worth 35 lei per worked day;
  • Bonuses and rewards for various occasions (e.g., Easter, Christmas, June 1st for colleagues with minor children, vacation, performance-based bonuses depending on the annual budget);
  • 23 days of annual paid leave;
  • One paid day off for your birthday;
  • Modern working environment – new, well-equipped halls with safe and comfortable working conditions;
  • Transportation provided
  • Opportunities for professional development through participation in both internal and external training courses.
