Job title

Manufacturing process engineer – component fabrication

Description

WHY JOIN US?

At Deltamed, every component we manufacture contributes to the production of special-purpose vehicles deployed in situations where reliability and quality are essential.

In this role, you will have a direct impact on how our products are manufactured by optimizing technological processes and contributing to production efficiency. You will work in a dynamic technical environment alongside specialized teams, where ideas for improvement and development are encouraged and put into practice.

You will define and optimize the manufacturing processes used to produce the components and assemblies incorporated into ambulances and special-purpose vehicles.

You will transform technical documentation into clear production workflows, configure manufacturing processes in the ERP system, and work closely with the Production, Planning, and Design teams to ensure that every product is manufactured efficiently and correctly.

The role focuses on defining and updating manufacturing processes, configuring production workflows, and supporting production activities.

RESPONSABILITIES

What you will do

  • Develop manufacturing processes for products and assemblies made in the component fabrication workshops, including laser cutting, CNC bending, milling, welding, thermoforming, joinery, and painting;
  • Define technological workflows and establish the sequence of operations required to manufacture each product, based on internal capabilities and outsourcing strategies;
  • Select materials and determine the required quantities according to the technical documentation and stock availability;
  • Configure manufacturing processes and release production orders in the ERP system (ASIS), including setting standard production times and completion deadlines;
  • Prepare and issue the technical documentation required for production, including process sheets, technical drawings, and production release documentation;
  • Review and update existing manufacturing processes to ensure the accuracy of materials, components, operations, and production times;
  • Review technical documentation and ensure that it contains all the information required for production, including dimensions, tolerances, surface treatments, painting specifications, and other relevant details;
  • Work with the Production, Planning, Quality, and Design departments to optimize processes and implement technological changes;
  • Contribute to the development and improvement of manufacturing processes, control plans, FMEAs, and production standards.

What a typical day in this role might look like

  • Review the technical documentation for a new component and determine the optimal manufacturing process;
  • Configure the technological workflow and enter the product structure into the ERP system;
  • Set standard production times and release production orders;
  • Review existing documentation and manufacturing processes to eliminate potential non-conformities before production begins;
  • Discuss process optimization opportunities with the Production and Design teams;
  • Support the implementation of technological changes that improve the efficiency and quality of the manufacturing process.

Candidate profile

REQUIREMENTS

  • Higher education degree in a technical field, such as Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related discipline;
  • At least three years of experience in a similar manufacturing engineering or production process role;
  • Knowledge of machining, welding, cutting, bending, thermoforming, painting, or other processes specific to metal manufacturing;
  • Experience in developing manufacturing processes and defining technological workflows;
  • Knowledge of bills of materials (BOMs), technical documentation, and the interpretation of manufacturing drawings;
  • Experience using an ERP system; experience with ASIS is an advantage;
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills, as well as attention to detail, are essential for success in this role;
  • English language skills at a minimum conversational level, sufficient for working with technical documentation.

It would be an advantage if you already have experience with

  • Using the ASIS ERP system or other manufacturing ERP systems;
  • Establishing standard production times and releasing production orders;
  • Preparing control plans, FMEAs, and documentation specific to manufacturing processes;
  • Implementing continuous improvement projects and optimizing production workflows;
  • Manufacturing special-purpose vehicles, metal structures, or complex technical products.
